SDOC PUBLISHING LAUNCHES CALIFORNIA-BASED WEBSITES

DUNWOODY, GA - (July 31, 2008) Website Specialists of SDOC Publishing announced today that they have launched two new websites for non-profit organizations based in Orange County, California.

The Central Orange County Alumnae Panhellenic (COCAP) and the Phi Mu Alumnae Chapter of Orange County are enjoying a fresh web presence. For COCAP, this is the first website they have ever had. The sites are located at www.ocphimu.com and www.ocpanhellenic.com

"Few locations in the world evoke an image as lush and exciting as Southern California," says SDOC owner Adrienne Duncan. "How can anyone not just indulge in incorporating that imagery in a website while building the functionality?"

COCAP and Phi Mu both were designed for simplicity in presenting information, search engine optimization, and ease of maintenance by organization members.

"Websites don't have to be complicated to be both beautiful and useful," notes Duncan.

COCAP played a big part in the design of their site. "We went through more than five different designs and layouts before we found the one that was right. It was truly a collaborative, organic process this time and the result was perfect for them." COCAP's design has a retro "mod" 60s feel with open links across the navigation banner. "The design elements are not just aesthetic," confides Duncan. "If you look closely, you can see that the links are all the symbolic colors of the member sororities. It shows in a subtle way that the different groups work together."

Orange County Alumnae's site was a different process. "I was given free rein, no restrictions whatsoever. I decided to lay out a design that just screamed "ORANGE COUNTY!" Palm trees, sunset over the ocean, and just enough glitter. I designed that site in one shot, no edits at all! The organization loved it at first sight."

Duncan is quick to point out that what both sites have in common is that the information in them is organized clearly, everything is easy to find, and most of all, easy for the organizations to maintain. "If there was ever a time the source code had to be clean, up to date, and simple, this was it. A member of each organization is going to do the updating, and they are not professionals. I had to set up their design so that they could make updates with little chance of any problems or mistakes. They're both very happy with how easy it is to maintain."

SDOC Publishing website design and development is based in the Atlanta suburb of Dunwoody. Initial consultations are free of charge and by appointment only. All design work and pricing is customized for each client. Visit www.sdocpublishing.com for further information.
