AN OPEN LETTER TO THE NEW CITY OF DUNWOODY

Four years ago, my husband received word that he still had a job after major company layoffs in Houston. But the job was in Atlanta. There were many choices to make: what kind of home, what kind of neighborhood.

It didn't take much research to realize that the best choice of both was Dunwoody. The community was a dream come true. Our minds were made up that we would find a home in Dunwoody, send our children to Dunwoody schools, attend a Dunwoody church and be involved in the life of Dunwoody.

It took several all-nighters on the Internet and two trips to Georgia to find our home. When we finally found what we thought was perfect for us, my husband got the look that said without words, "You're getting this house, I don't care what it takes!" I had a lot of paperwork to go through to get SDOC Publishing re-established in our new home with new state and county regulations. SDOC's first new clients after relocating were Dunwoody-based business and organizations. They include the Briers North Subdivision, DCBA Inc, and the Atlanta Alumnae Panhellenic Association, which meets in the DeKalb Cultural Center on Chamblee-Dunwoody Road. When the Citizens for Dunwoody and DunwoodyYes! corporations were founded, our family were involved almost immediately. SDOC Publishing's website proudly displayed the DunwoodyYes! bumper sticker graphic right on the front page.

Just as our family have endeavored to be good citizens of our new city (!), SDOC Publishing has always endeavored to be a good corporate citizen as well. While some of our friends and neighbors are aspiring to public office, we feel our strength is in good business. Our new city will need strong business for all of us to thrive. SDOC Publishing has been eager to be part of the Dunwoody business community since Day One and we look forward to serving private industry, non-profit organizations, and political endeavors alike.

Congratulations, Dunwoody! Here's to a bright, prosperous future for all of us!

SDOC PUBLISHING LAUNCHES CALIFORNIA-BASED WEBSITES

DUNWOODY, GA - (July 31, 2008) Website Specialists of SDOC Publishing announced today that they have launched two new websites for non-profit organizations based in Orange County, California.

The Central Orange County Alumnae Panhellenic (COCAP) and the Phi Mu Alumnae Chapter of Orange County are enjoying a fresh web presence. For COCAP, this is the first website they have ever had. The sites are located at www.ocphimu.com and www.ocpanhellenic.com

"Few locations in the world evoke an image as lush and exciting as Southern California," says SDOC owner Adrienne Duncan. "How can anyone not just indulge in incorporating that imagery in a website while building the functionality?"

COCAP and Phi Mu both were designed for simplicity in presenting information, search engine optimization, and ease of maintenance by organization members.

"Websites don't have to be complicated to be both beautiful and useful," notes Duncan.

COCAP played a big part in the design of their site. "We went through more than five different designs and layouts before we found the one that was right. It was truly a collaborative, organic process this time and the result was perfect for them." COCAP's design has a retro "mod" 60s feel with open links across the navigation banner. "The design elements are not just aesthetic," confides Duncan. "If you look closely, you can see that the links are all the symbolic colors of the member sororities. It shows in a subtle way that the different groups work together."

Orange County Alumnae's site was a different process. "I was given free rein, no restrictions whatsoever. I decided to lay out a design that just screamed "ORANGE COUNTY!" Palm trees, sunset over the ocean, and just enough glitter. I designed that site in one shot, no edits at all! The organization loved it at first sight."

Duncan is quick to point out that what both sites have in common is that the information in them is organized clearly, everything is easy to find, and most of all, easy for the organizations to maintain. "If there was ever a time the source code had to be clean, up to date, and simple, this was it. A member of each organization is going to do the updating, and they are not professionals. I had to set up their design so that they could make updates with little chance of any problems or mistakes. They're both very happy with how easy it is to maintain."

SDOC Publishing website design and development is based in the Atlanta suburb of Dunwoody. Initial consultations are free of charge and by appointment only. All design work and pricing is customized for each client. Visit www.sdocpublishing.com for further information.

SDOC PUBLISHING GIVES BACK TO THE COMMUNITY TO SAY, "THANK YOU, ATLANTA!"

(DUNWOODY, GA June 5, 2007) SDOC Publishing announced today their first charitable corporate sponsorship. According to owner Adrienne Duncan, "Atlanta has been good to SDOC Publishing. The community welcomed our company with open arms and now it is our turn to be good corporate citizens and support our new home in return."

SDOC Publishing contributed custom graphics and website maintenance to a fundraising gala for The Sullivan Center, a privately-funded agency specializing in "homelessness prevention".

"What is so innovative about the Sullivan Center is that they are a proactive group that intervenes with families and individuals in crisis before they hit bottom and lose their homes. In addition, there is only so much money to go around and only so many people they can help. But the number of applications is increasing. To assist those people, their September fundraiser is absolutely critical."

Duncan found a niche in a unique challenge: website design, stationery design and a new logo identity for the gala, themed "A Garden Party: Planting the Seeds of Hope". "When web imaging or print imaging are done independently, the job is simple," she says. "But we managed to develop an attractive presence that was adapted to all print materials and the website all on a very tight deadline. We are proud of our work and certainly hope it benefits The Sullivan Center."

Watch for SDOC's handiwork in press materials to be distributed in the next couple of weeks. The website is now live and can be visited at www.thesullivancenter.org.
